TOMORROW’S ENGINEERS WEEK APPOINTS CAMPAIGN COLLECTIVE TO DELIVER MEDIA AND PR
Campaign Collective, the social enterprise providing communications advice to not-for-profits and campaigners, has been appointed to support Tomorrow’s Engineers Week. Running from 6-10 November, the week is a unique opportunity for engineers, employers, universities and schools to showcase how engineers are on a mission to make the world a better place.
The week will demonstrate how young people can take their ideas, passions and dreams and turn them into engineering careers; using their skills to solve some of the big issues, from helping people recover from natural disasters and creating renewable energy to tackling homelessness and developing new cures for diseases.
A toolkit of ideas will be available for employers, professional bodies, universities, schools and individuals to take part in the week-long drive to inspire the next generation of engineers.
The campaign is being delivered by a partnership led by EngineeringUK, a not-for-profit organisation, which works with the engineering community – employers and professional institutions - to promote the vital role of engineers and engineering and to inspire the next generation.
Campaign Collective will be responsible for delivering the toolkit, social media content, media relations and in-week PR/events support.
Simon Francis, founder member of Campaign Collective, says, “The week is designed to help address the fact that 186,000 people with engineering skills will be needed annually through to 2024. Our members have a long track record of working on skills campaigns and have long felt that the life-saving and game changing work of engineers has been under-represented in campaigns. Tomorrow’s Engineers Week 2017 is a chance to put this right.”
Beth Elgood, director of communications at EngineeringUK, says, “Over 300 employers and professional bodies from across the engineering community have been invited to join universities, schools and individuals in this week-long drive to inspire the next generation of engineers.
