MHP Communications has been appointed as the retained financial PR adviser to Benchmark Holdings, the aquaculture health, nutrition and genetics business, following a competitive pitch process.

Benchmark’s strategy is to lead the way in technologies which tackle some of the major challenges facing the aquaculture industry and it believes its first-mover advantage in this high growth market leaves it well placed to deliver attractive shareholder returns.

Katie Hunt and Reg Hoare, managing directors of MHP, will lead the account with support from Alistair de Kare-Silver and Vera Prokhorenko.

Hunt says, “We are delighted that we have been selected by Benchmark Holdings to advise on its financial communications and support the company as it takes advantage of its leadership position in the exciting, high growth aquaculture industry.”

The latest win underlines continued momentum for MHP’s Financial team, after a spate of recent client wins including Cobham, HarbourVest Global Private Equity, Eastspring Investments, Nanoco and Paypoint.

It comes as CEO Alex Bigg implements wide-ranging changes at the agency, including a shake-up of the senior team. Recent appointments include Mike Robb as the new head of financial services; Nick Barron as deputy CEO; Andy Bloxham as head of corporate; and Andy Lyons as joint head of public affairs with James Gurling.
