GRAMMATIK APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
Leading technology PR and marketing agency, Grammatik, has appointed Glenn Matchett as managing director. In this new role, Matchett will work alongside the CEO, drawing on his experience from globally recognised entertainment businesses like MPC, Sky, UKTV and Virgin Media.
Matchett will lead the overall focus for Grammatik’s client portfolio, overseeing the management team and developing campaigns to help grow the business. Under Matchett’s leadership, Grammatik will continue to work with a wide range of blue-chip technology and creative clients, from visual effects production companies like Axis Studios to the creators of real-time digital humans for events and games, Cubic Motion.
Grammatik has worked with more than 40 clients since its inception in 2014, delivering campaigns for AWS, Autodesk, Xsens, Expereo, Disguise, Luxion and Google Cloud Platform, as well as the Academy and Emmy award-winning team at Cospective.
Matchett says, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the Grammatik team. There’s isn’t a more exciting space right now than tech for sharing amazing stories about innovation and development. We’re working on some bleeding edge projects for clients – from digital humans to VR and AI – it’s a real buzz to help unpack often complex messages in a compelling and engaging way across our marketing and PR activity. It’s a real unique strength of the agency because all we know and love the space.”
Ian Tomalin-Hall, CEO at Grammatik, adds, “Glenn brings with him a wealth of experience from a wide range of markets, including the tech and computer graphics industries which are key focus areas for us. As we work to build upon our client base, and expand our service offerings, Glenn’s expertise will prove invaluable.”
Matchett’s career history spans film, television, retail, online and entertainment brands including MPC, Sky, UKTV and Virgin Media. In senior marketing roles, he has planned, implemented and managed a variety of impactful campaigns across traditional and digital media. During his five-year tenure at the world-leading visual effects company, MPC, Matchett led the studio to become the world’s largest volume recruiter of VFX talent.
Some of Matchett’s first challenges in 2019 include expanding the Grammatik team with new senior hires as well as expanding the technology client portfolio.
