CORPORATE & FINANCIAL AWARDS 2017 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Entering its sixth year, the Corporate & Financial Awards continues to reward best practice in cross-sector City communications. Yet as the awards’ growth sees entry statistics increase incrementally, the myriad challenges that face corporate communications persist. For communicators and those that influence the City, the awards offer the only immediate consideration of quality within corporate communications.
The ceremony captured the diverse community of professionals representing corporate communications. Held at the Brewery in London and hosted by the BBC’s Sophie Raworth, the event began with a recognition of the City’s digital presence in categories such as ‘Best corporate website’ in both FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 classifications. Illustrating the dynamic intersection between investor relations and corporate and financial media relations, the evening brought together specialist firms covering the breadth of developments in communications.
Adjudicated by an esteemed panel of over 20 judges, this year’s awards underpinned the multifaceted approach to each winning project. Andrew Whyte, director of communications at the Financial Conduct Authority, says, “What struck me most was not just the quality of the entries, but the way companies had thought about their audiences and adapted style and format to meet their differing needs. While many firms are making imaginative use of the opportunities afforded by digital it is also clear that with an equally creative approach the more traditional paper-based publications still have a significant part to play in clear and transparent reporting.”
Taking home the award for ‘Best annual report of the year,’ Puma Energy’s collaboration with Merchant Cantos remained this year’s exemplary project in corporate reporting. Similarly, Lansons deserved accolade of ‘Best IR agency or PR consultancy’ set the bar for commitment and work ethic across the professional landscape.
