INTERBRAND POACHES BRAND UNION CEO
Interbrand has announced the appointment of Simon Bailey to the post of CEO of Interbrand Europe. Bailey, currently the CEO of WPP-owned The Brand Union, will start in January 2011.
The appointment follows the departure of Jean-Baptiste Danet who left the role in early November. Bailey will be responsible for shaping strategy and growth across 10 offices in Europe and will lead the management team in both strategic and operational development and in managing key client relationships.
This is Bailey's second stint at Interbrand, having worked there from 1997. His final post before leaving in 2004 was managing director of branding subsidiary Innocence, which Interbrand closed down the year after he left.
He joined The Brand Union, where he became Chief Executive of the London, Madrid, and Dublin offices in 2008.
“I am extremely proud to welcome Simon back into the Interbrand family,” said Interbrand Global CEO, Jez Frampton. “We have found, in Simon, someone with proven experience in managing multiple offices. Furthermore, he brings with him nearly two decades of branding expertise and a visionary view of how to position the company for success in the challenging European market."
