PAGE SOCIETY RELEASES BENCHMARKING REPORT

The Arthur W. Page Society launched Page Navigator, an insight system that helps Chief Communication Officers benchmark their function.

This system released the first Benchmark Trend report, a peer-driven report on how senior communicators across industries and countries structure their teams, manage and navigate business environments. This report differences in EMEA and their peers in North America.

It was found that EMEA-headquartered companies report larger budgets than those in North America, even when their communications teams are similar in size. It also reports that European CCOs are five times more likely to oversee government affairs compared to North American peers. From the data, four CCO archetypes were seen, with EMEA leaders mostly represented as carrying broader remits.

Barney Wyld, member of the Page Benchmarking Working Group and interim CCO at Capita, said, “The findings show that leaders in our region are more often responsible for portfolios like government affairs and ESG, and trusted with larger budgets to match. Having this level of peer-driven insight allows us to benchmark more effectively, advocate with greater confidence, and prepare our teams for what’s next.”
