Titled Talking Pictures: British Corporate Classics, the event will explore the enduring power of short-form filmmaking through a programme spanning wartime propaganda, public information campaigns, safety films and brand storytelling.
The evening will feature screenings of critically acclaimed ‘London Can Take It’, a 1940 wartime propaganda film produced by the Ministry of Information for a US audience and ‘Snow’ a 1963 film, produced by British Transport Films that was shortlisted for an Oscar. Also included is ‘Inspiration’, the film that helped London win the bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
For the first time, attendees will also vote to decide The Greatest Corporate Film of All Time, with the winning film screened live during the event.
Following the screenings, a panel discussion will examine why these films continue to resonate and what they reveal about Britain’s changing visual culture and communications landscape.
The event highlights the creative and cultural impact of corporate filmmaking and its continuing influence on modern communications and storytelling.
