The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has launched a new nationwide survey aimed at assessing the current state of climate communications across the UK industry.
The initiative, led by the PRCA’s Climate Advisory Board, seeks input from both in-house and agency professionals to better understand how climate-related messaging is being developed and delivered. The survey is available here: https://bit.ly/4cT7iA8
The board’s chair, Burson managing director Chris Pratt, said the industry currently lacks a clear picture of its effectiveness on climate communication. “The state of climate communications in the UK is not clear. The PRCA’s Climate Advisory Board exists to lift standards and provide practical tools and guidance for practitioners so that we can improve the quality and standards of climate communications.”
The survey is designed to gather perspectives from across the sector, regardless of how frequently respondents work on climate-related issues. “Whether your work concerns the climate all the time or almost never, your views will be just as vital,” Pratt said.
Insights from the research will inform upcoming initiatives, including planned events at London Climate Action Week and the development of resources to help communications professionals navigate the growing role of AI in climate messaging.
