
ACCOLADES GIVEN AT MILITARY COMMUNICATOR AWARDS 2025
The Honourable Artillery Company in London hosted the annual Worshipful Company of Communicators annual Military Awards on September 26.
Lieutenant General Paul Griffiths presented the awards recognising achievements in communications by military personnel and civil servants.
Sarah Goldthorpe won the Army Military Communicator of the Year award for her work as an editor for Soldier magazine. She is the publication’s first female editor and covered topics from Army lawyers on the frontlines to cyber threats and UK resilience operations.
Dan Chorley, Squadron Leader, was awarded the RAF Military Communicator of the Year award for his work with the Royal Airforce. Chorley led the communications team behind the second season of Top Guns: Inside the RAF, providing cockpit footage from operations and bringing new audiences to RAF.
Following that, Hannah Bourne, head of a regional media team, won the Royal Navy Military Communicator of the Year award. Bourne’s management of two-thirds of the Royal Navy’s Surface Fleet, allowed for a clear narrative of the Navy’s story, gaining the public’s trust and understanding.
Accolades were also presented to Chloe Hobbs who won the Civil Service Military Communicator of the Year award and Major Richard Cole, a royal marine, who was awarded the Special Commendation.
