PRCA LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO TACKLE GENDER IMBALANCE IN PR
The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has launched 'Leading Women', a campaign to address the number of women leaving the industry midway through their careers.
A campaign has been launched by the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), designed to address the ongoing challenge of women leaving the PR and communications industry at the mid-career stage.
This follows findings from a Socially Mobile report, which identified a gap of over 4,000 women in England and Wales who either exited the industry or did not progress into senior leadership roles.
'Leading Women' highlights the experiences of women who have remained in the industry or returned after career breaks, sharing their insights and proposing solutions to the barriers identified in the report. These solutions focus on leadership development, flexible working options and fostering inclusive workplace cultures.
The initiative outlines eight recommendations, including the implementation of structural pay transparency and redefined career progression models. It also emphasises the need for leadership accountability in driving these changes.
