GETTY IMAGES AND ITN SIGN MULTI-YEAR RENEWAL OF GLOBAL VIDEO ARCHIVE PARTNERSHIP

Getty Images, a global visual content creator and marketplace, and ITN, the UK’s leading supplier of independent broadcast news, today announced the renewal of their exclusive multi-year Global Video Archive partnership.

The distribution agreement will see over one million clips, spanning more than 65 years of iconic ITN news footage, reach an even larger audience through Getty Images’ industry-leading global platform and expert international sales team servicing millions of buyers in nearly 200 countries.

Dating from its first broadcast in 1955, the ITN archive has more than a million clips available exclusively online or searchable via gettyimages.com. The archive covers a wide range of genres, including UK and international news, sport, entertainment, war, disasters, politics, the environment, and royals.

ITN’s award-winning cameramen and women have captured some of history’s most unforgettable moments, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, exclusive footage of Nelson Mandela in hiding, and access to Royal engagements. The collection is updated daily with agenda-setting news footage; 2021 highlights included the storming of the Capitol building and the funeral of Prince Philip.

Tami Hoffman, head of news and archive at ITN Productions says, “ITN’s archive is a visual repository of British cultural history and we are delighted to renew our partnership with Getty Images. Getty Images’ international reach and editorial expertise has allowed us to build on the collection and continue to unearth new gems for audiences around the world.”

Peter Orlowsky, SVP of strategic development at Getty Images says, “We are proud to have been working with ITN exclusively since 2016, and this multi-year renewal of our agreement is testament to the strength and success of our partnership.
