THE MAVERICK GROUP APPOINTS CHRIS TEDMAN AS MD AND CARRON EDMONDS AS CHAIRPERSON

The Maverick Group, the leading independent agency group, has announced the appointment of Chris Tedman, previously chief operating officer, as the new managing director of the business.

The move sees current managing director and co-founder, Carron Edmonds, move into a newly created Chairperson role, tasked with overseeing the overall growth of the Group.

Chris, a veteran of the agency for over a decade, has been instrumental in supporting the development of the business as it has grown and cultivated relationships with anchor clients including global logistics leader DHL, Coca- Cola, Adecco, Manchester United and Pendragon.

Owen Rees, co-founder and chief executive officer says, “While we love to attract first-rate talent to the business, like our hire of executive creative director, Jamie Bell, we also like to develop our internal talent pool. Chris is a great example of this ‒ he has been a key figure in our success story so far, is a respected leader in the agency Group and is a natural successor to Carron, as she broadens her remit to help us step up to the next level as a group business.”

Carron, who co-founded The Maverick Group in 2002 and has guided the business in the role of MD for almost 20 years, moves into the chairperson role with the specific focus of nurturing the various agencies under The Maverick Group banner. The Group includes nine agency divisions, ranging from Electric ‒ an advertising and customer engagement agency ‒ to Maverick Hive, a digital innovation and transformation collective.

Carron Edmonds says, “Now it’s the right time to further support some of our specialist agencies. We’ve seen major opportunities in areas like behavioural insights, strategy and cultural transformation, where our Pulse and Engage propositions are well-placed, and I can now focus on all of the Group businesses alongside Owen.”
