FLEISHMANHILLARD UK STRENGTHENS MEDIA RELATIONS CAPABILITIES WITH SENIOR APPOINTMENT

FleishmanHillard UK has appointed Matthew Jamieson to the role of director and senior media strategist.

Matt joins FleishmanHillard UK from Ogilvy, where he served as WPP’s corporate communications lead of its Ford of Europe account for the last three years.

He brings with him more than a decade’s worth of agency experience working on client briefs across the consumer and corporate sphere, specialising in earned media strategy, as well as brand narrative development and executive communications.

During his three years at Ogilvy & WPP, he played a significant role developing the communication strategy for Ford business transformation in Europe, as well as the company’s move to all-electric vehicles. He was also a critical part of the team that developed the award-winning Fordswitch and Go Electric campaigns last year.

In this new, pan-agency role, Matt will advise teams on earned media strategy and tactical execution, as well as offering strategic counsel to core clients. He will report into Ali Gee, deputy CEO of FleishmanHillard UK.

Working closely with Peter Meikle, FleishmanHillard UK head of news & media relations EMEA, he will also help ensure that the media relations capabilities of the agency keep pace with the ever-shifting content and news landscape.

Ali Gee, deputy CEO at FleishmanHillard UK, says, “As the media landscape continues to evolve at pace, our clients are more than ever seeking incisive insight and exceptional contacts in the earned space. In this newly created role, Matt will help ensure FleishmanHillard UK continues to deliver on both counts.”

Peter Meikle, head of news & media relations EMEA, FleishmanHillard UK, says, “Matt’s record of delivering top-tier coverage in both corporate and consumer media is exemplary. Not only is he well-connected and attuned to the shifting media landscape, he also brings a distinct perspective on how businesses should navigate these changes. This will be of significant benefit to our clients, as well as our wider agency network."
