The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has appointed Dame Maria Miller DBE as its first independent chair, starting January 2025.

A former culture secretary with extensive experience in communications and government, Dame Maria Miller DBE is a champion of diversity and equality, including her role in passing the Equal Marriage Act.

CIPR leaders praised her strategic focus on talent, digital regulation and AI. Miller aims to advance the PR industry’s reputation and growth while addressing key challenges in the evolving communications landscape.
