THE NOVEMBER SOCIAL - A BUSY MONTH FOR SOCIAL MEDIA

This Autumn sees a flurry of workshops held, books written and white papers and guides published, all on the subject of social media.

In a bid to capture the social media hearts and minds of the corporate communications community, a number of societies, conference organisers, business schools, agencies and companies are collectively holding a staggering number of morning seminars, workshops and breakfast briefings.

November sees at least 25 different training events for the corporate communications community, with 12 November being the busiest. Communications staff have a choice of at least five on this busy Thursday, including seminars from communications agency Radley Yeldar and PR advisors Lewis PR. The 12th is also day one of a two-day "social media retreat". The retreat, run by training firm Ecademy, possibly holds the trump card - according to their web site "hospitality is second to none, the finest wines are available".

The same month also sees the social media cake cut finer as a number of organisations hold vertical market events to focus on sector-specific social media issues, with Culture24 running two sessions for museums and cultural institutions.

If you're too busy maintaining your corporate twitter feed and uploading your CEO interviews on YouTube to leave your desk, you can still keep up to date with all that is going on from the various publications that are produced, from Kinross & Render's 'Integrating Social Media in Communications’ handbook to theblueballroom's Social Media White Paper.

We'd be delighted to hear from anyone organising a social media event in November and will publish a calendar of events in next week's newsletter. Email details to news@communicatemagazine.co.uk.
