SOCIAL MEDIA FIRM CALLS IN RECEIVERS

Webjam, the London based social media software and intranet development firm has gone into administration.

Webjam was set up in 2006 by internet entrepreneurs Yann Motte, Alberto Barreiro and Marcus Greenwood with  private equity funding. Originally established as a freemium model social media site, it evolved into a website and intranet site development firm. Clients had included IPC, Unilever and Random House and earlier this year Webjam won the Best Intranet category at the Digital Impact Awards (organised by Communicate magazine).

The company called in Norwich based insolvency specialists McTear, Williams and Wood on 1 November. The company is continuing to trade under the control of the administrators, but the executive management team are not thought to be involved.
