DEPT CONTINUES APAC EXPANSION WITH TWO BULLS ACQUISITION

DEPT agency acquires Australian production studio Two Bulls, in its mission to become “best agency in the world”

DEPT agency continues its APAC expansion with the acquisition of award-winning Melbourne-based production studio, Two Bulls, last month. The move follows DEPT’s first launch in the Asia Pacific region at the start of this year, which was headed by former Havas regional CEO Vishnu Mohan.

Two Bulls has a team of over 120 engineers, specialising in applying digital solutions to complex problems, focusing on the health, family and public sector industries. Its clients include Verizon, Hasbro and Mailchimp.

Now part of DEPT, Two Bulls will continue to operate under the leadership of founder and CEO, James Kane, and founding partner, Evan Davey.

"Asia Pacific is an important part of our vision of being the best global digital agency in the world," says Mohan. "We are working hard to bring the full DEPT value proposition to life in the region. Joining forces with such a talented, pioneering team like Two Bulls will be hugely beneficial to our clients."

Since its founding in Amsterdam in 2015, DEPT has rapidly grown from 150 people in The Netherlands to a current 3,500 people, spanning five continents. Its clients include Google, Philips, eBay and ASOS. DEPT recently worked with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on an awareness-raising campaign on disability inclusion.

Dimi Albers, DEPT CEO, says: “I’m sure that Two Bulls’ entrepreneurial spirit will help drive DEPT forward in Australia, the wider APAC region and beyond.”

Two Bulls founder, James Kane, says: “DEPT is on an incredible adventure to become the best agency in the world, and we can’t wait to add our local knowledge and pioneering spirit into the mix.”
