FUTURES HOUSING SWAPS KEYBOARDS FOR PAINTBRUSHES IN CSR INITIATIVE
Futures Housing Group gave back to its local community in a CSR initiative last month.
Employees from Futures Housing Group abandoned their computers and keyboards in favour of paintbrushes and litter pickers during a CSR initiative last month. The initiative saw employees work on over 20 community projects across the East Midlands.
The housing association opened ten warm spaces at some of its community centres across Derbyshire, where free hot drinks and mince pies were provided to the public. Employees were spread across Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, working on projects such as tidying up communal gardens at Futures’ Warwick Court sheltered housing scheme.
Janene Haywood, community engagement project delivery officer at Futures, says: “For some people this was an opportunity to catch-up with neighbours they hadn’t seen since before Covid. It was quite overwhelming to know these warm spaces brought them together again.
“It just shows when we all come together - with that single focus which is about being in the community - just how much we’re able to achieve.”
Futures’ initiative was supported by organisations such as Amber Valley Borough Council, Daventry Town Council, Travis Perkins, Printscene, Landscape Supply Company, AstraSeal and Cheap Skips.
