AMEC SUMMIT OFFERS FREE VIRTUAL PASSES TO STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

AMEC’s Global Summit takes place next month. Through sponsorship by PR strategist Mary Beth West, 200 free virtual passes will go to students and teachers.

Ahead of its Global Summit taking place on 22nd-23rd May, the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) is funding the virtual attendance of students and teachers specialising in public relations and communications.

Sponsored by Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) fellow Mary Beth West, up to 200 free virtual passes are available for those who apply before 11th May. “My career began with the help and guidance of great PR educators, so my heart has always felt a debt of gratitude to them and their important work," says West. "AMEC’s community provides precisely the insights our industry — and our diverse, up-and-coming generation of students and new professionals — need most. I hope this opportunity builds new connections to AMEC that last for years to come.”

The in-person event will be taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria, this year.  “It’s not possible for everyone who wishes to attend to be there in person, so AMEC also offers virtual passes,” says Richard Bagnall, AMEC board director and CARMA CEO. “This generous sponsorship by Mary Beth West will allow 200 students and PR and communications educators to benefit from the event for free with a virtual pass.

“The future of the PR industry is dependent on the students of today. The need for our industry to embrace data and comms is critical,” Bagnall continues. “This sponsorship, focused on the next generation of practitioners, will go a long way to ensuring they enter the work place with the skills and capabilities for a successful career. On behalf of the whole AMEC board, we offer our heartfelt thanks to Mary Beth.”

AMEC describes the theme for this year’s summit as ‘innovation, implementation and insights: the global communication, data, measurement and evaluation journey’. The two-day event will include keynote sessions, case studies and panel discussions to invite analysis around issues such as misinformation and reputation.

"The AMEC Global Summit is the single most important event in the calendar for all comms and PR practitioners looking to understand best practice in media intelligence, evaluation, data and insights,” says Bagnall. “300 of the world's top practitioners will gather this May in Sofia to network, collaborate and learn from each other.”
