ORGANIC APPOINTS TOM HEDLEY AS LEAD ENGINEER

Digital agency Organic announces the appointment of Tom Hedley as lead engineer.

Reporting into Joe Webber, director of engineering at Organic, Tom is joining the team full-time after freelancing for the agency for three months. The new hire comes as a result of Organic’s efforts to expand its capabilities and offering as they continue to grow the team.

Tom will be responsible for leading on project work and overseeing and giving direction to other engineers within the software engineering team. He will be in charge of assuring quality and punctual delivery for all clients (including W Series, Distell and Arlo), offering technical consultancy on tech stacks / platforms, architecting solutions using appropriate technology and peer-reviewing code and providing feedback.

Prior to joining Organic, Hedley spent nearly a decade working as a freelance front-end developer. During this time, he provided contract services for a variety of agencies, studios and personal clients in the UK, EU and USA. Notable accounts he worked on included internal and public-facing projects for the NHS, UEA and London Borough Councils

Joe Webber, director of engineering at Organic adds, “This is a key role for Organic as we move into using more complex and varied solutions for digital problems. We are in the process of overhauling our tech stack, and architecting solutions which are flexible enough to suit a range of scenarios, from small to enterprise level projects. Tom's role is key to developing and progressing our approach, his skillset and experience suits the role."
