INSTILLING PRIDE IN THE WORKPLACE

Internal communications agency, theblueballroom, has announced the next instalment in its the futurestory series of events.

The event will focus on theblueballroom’s latest engagement model, PRIDE; the concept that pride in the organisation and pride in one’s role drives business and personal performance. According to theblueballroom, PRIDE is built upon five factors: purpose, reputation, integrity, direction and energy.

thefuturestory: TAKE PRIDE event, held on 17 May, will include a presentation from Sheila Parry, chair at theblueballroom and creator of the PRIDE model. Stephen Cheliotis, CEO at The Centre for Brand Analysis (TCBA), who co-wrote the PRIDE diagnostic tool, will also present.

The event, held from 2-6pm at Lumiére London in Southwark, will also include table discussions with clients and colleagues from theblueballroom and is free to attend. Register here.

Sheila Parry, owner at theblueballroom

"People who know me and theblueballroom know that I’m passionate about people having a better time at work. It’s really not because we all spend so much time there, it’s because when we find something that we love doing and the right place to do it, work can be a massive source of fun and fulfilment. What I do is part of who I am, and I expect to work for organisations whom I respect and with people who share my values.

"Creating an environment where people want to come to work - where they are motivated, appreciated, valued - is one of the great challenges for employers. Some companies absolutely get that, and are great at it, yet so many organisations seem to get this so wrong. In 30 years of working, I’ve really seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

"The PRIDE model is an approach to achieving the good. I am looking forward to sharing more of the thinking behind PRIDE on 17 May 2016 at thefuturestory in London, and to extending a warm welcome to people who share my passion to make the experience of work better for everyone."
