Director of communications and engagement
David Boardman is Director of Communications and Engagement for MyCSP, a leading pension’s administrator. His current remit spans employee and member communications, events, PR, marketing and public affairs.
Prior to joining MyCSP, David worked in a similar role within the housing management and regeneration sector in London. Before that, he delivered award-winning corporate communications for online retailer Shop Direct Group, working on well-known brands such as Littlewoods and Very.co.uk. In that role he managed the communications of the merger of Littlewoods Home Shopping and Great Universal and the sale of both the Littlewoods stores and the Index retail store businesses.
Founder and CEO
Mélanie Chevalier is the founder and CEO of Creative Culture, a cross-cultural consultancy based in London.
With 15 years’ industry experience in cross-cultural communications, Mélanie has been helping international brands and agencies successfully roll-out their creative concepts and campaigns across borders.
Over the years, Mélanie and her team have gained considerable experience in cross-market communication and strategy providing real-time local insight, cultural audits as well as global content and local engagement solutions.
Some of the leading brands Mélanie has been working with include Barclays Wealth, Cointreau, Coty, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oréal Luxe, Maserati, Nikon, Nokia, Orange, P&G, Philips, Sanofi, Sony and Urban Decay amongst many others.
Executive Creative Director
Chief storyteller, part-time mathematician and former army officer.
Brian has over 23 years experience in creating business transforming ideas in both the advertising and digital space. He’s won numerous awards for many clients including Unilever, Vodafone, Sony, Virgin, MasterCard, Audi, Land Rover and the Government. He creatively led Dare to Campaign’s digital agency of the decade, and has even done a stint at Apple.
Brian is passionate about telling stories in a hyper-connected world.
Director for global content strategy and editorial
As director for global content strategy and editorial at GSK, Rachel leads on digital storytelling for the healthcare company’s global corporate channels. Her team, which she established at the beginning of 2017, commissions, co-develops, edits and publishes content for the corporate website and intranet, as well as social media. Previously, Rachel led external communications for GSK’s global health initiatives.
Prior to joining GSK, Rachel was a journalist. She completed The Telegraph’s multimedia graduate training scheme and stayed on as a business reporter, covering the healthcare industry and the daily market report for both print and digital. She also contributed to Telegraph Wonder Women. Previously, Rachel has worked in Westminster, the NHS and an international NGO.
Des Good is a communication expert securing a reputation for being one of the most innovative and imaginative producers of specialist programming.
With a proven track record in creating award-winning films and presentations that include the effective use of all types of digital media, including live events, road shows, as well as, exhibition production.
An employee in his career at Ogilvy & Mather, Merck Sharp & Dohme, EMI and he has worked for both the public and private sectors.
Des is Managing Director of Grosvenor Film, a Director of drp, as well as Director of the EVCOM Fellowship Awards.
Director of creative content
As the Director of creative content at Investis, Lucy is passionate about bringing brands to life through content. Finding exciting and inspiring ways to maximise the freedom digital mediums offer, developing and executing brand content, and devising strategies that support a business’s aims and objectives are what excites Lucy about the work she does.
With a background in magazine journalism, Lucy has over six years’ experience working in digital and content, and today leads a team of content strategists, animators, illustrators, copywriters and video producers. Her client work covers everything from developing brand messaging and tone of voice, to creating bespoke campaigns, digital experiences and content in all formats.
Head of internal communications and engagement
An award-winning communications professional, Emily has spent the last 12 years implementing effective communications strategies at world-leading media, professional services and technology companies. She believes compelling communication improves an organisation’s culture, reputation and profitability – and is passionate about leading high performing global teams to achieve just that.
As Head of Internal Communications & Engagement for BBC News, Emily oversees the brilliant team who devise and deliver world-class internal communications to the BBC’s 9,000 journalists around the world. The team’s mission is to inform, involve and inspire employees, building a collaborative culture and an innovative, trusting and open working environment.
Emily contributes actively to advancing the communications profession, sitting on the Board of the European Association of Communication Directors, the Council of The Media Society and speaking regularly at national and international communications forums.
Susan is content editor for Deloitte UK and is responsible for producing the Impact Report: the firm’s annual report demonstrating its impact on clients, people and society. She advises on, and writes, executive communications and works with the PR, internal communications and corporate marketing teams to align corporate messages and strategy. Susan previously worked in event-driven equity sales and is a former newswire journalist.
Bob works in the Film and Motion team and brings over 18 years’ experience in the media; initially as a journalist at the Press Association and a News Editor at ITN. Bob joined us from World Television where he advised clients on their digital strategy and producing engaging video content for both internal and external audiences and prior to this spent six years at a public relations consultancy.
Global brand director
Meher is a global brand strategist at Western Union and is focused on bringing the brand to life across the customer journey. Most recently, she has been focused on refreshing Western Union’s visual identity, brand architecture, global brand positioning, and brand in digital CX. She has worked in South Asia, the US and UK, both agency and client side, across industries including FMCG, telco, charities and financial services. Meher specialises in brand integrated comms, retail, shopper marketing, consumer journeys, brand positioning, brand management, brand toolkits, communication strategy and planning, cultural strategy and consumer insights.
Senior content lead
Jack Preston is Senior Content Lead at Virgin Management, where he oversees the Virgin Group’s social media channels and the content published on virgin.com. During his time at Virgin Jack has been responsible for developing and delivering the Group’s content strategy, creating the Virgin podcast portfolio, rolling out their successful guest blogger programme and supporting the strategic development of key Virgin projects and businesses through content and physical activations.
Head of internal communications & community liaison
Tata Steel UK
Tim has worked for Tata Steel, Corus and British Steel for 29 years in a variety of Communications, Marketing and PR roles. In his current role includes responsibilities for internal communications for the Strip Products hub in Port Talbot and Llanwern in Wales as well as for the Tubes, Packaging, Colors and Electrical Steels businesses, which span geographies.
Alongside this Tim is also responsible for the Community Relations programme supporting communities around all the UK sites, and for local media relationships and crisis management.
Co-founder and executive creative director
Duncan has over 20 years' brand and marketing experience for clients such as EY, Citi, HSBC, GE Capital, Morgan Stanley, Russell Investments and State Street. During this time, he has gained great insight into many of the current communication challenges within the financial, professional services and technology sectors. Duncan is responsible for the development of new accounts and continued client relationships, strategic planning on large client projects, as well as the day-to-day management of Living’s fast-paced businesses in New York London and Hong Kong.
Founding Partner & Director of Narrative
Ed is one of four Founding Partners at Aesop Agency and Director of Narrative, overseeing the strategy and editorial departments.
Prior to Aesop, he spent over decade in marketing consultancies and creative agencies, but it was only when he took some time out to do an MA in creative writing that he became aware of, and was excited by, the many links between narrative structure and brand planning.
Plans to write a novel were sidelined by a new passion for brand strategy (and by a dislike of working by himself), which culminated in the founding of Aesop, a creative agency powered by narrative thinking.
