CISION IDENTIFIES THE BEST BLOGS... ON BEER

Media intelligence provider Cision Europe is continuing to map the blogosphere to determine the most influential blogs in the UK.

Following its ranking of the top PR blogs in July, in which Neville Hobson’s blog scooped first place, Cision Europe is aiming to identify the most read, most discussed and most influential corners of UK social media – across various different realms. Having previously produced rankings for literature, motorsports, music, gaming, property, personal finance, health, travel, parenting, environment and politics, Cision has this week turned its attention to the UK's Top 10 beer blogs.

Jeffo's Beer Blog came out on top of the pile, followed by Boak and Bailey's Beer Blog, Pete Brown's Beer Blog and The Beer Babe's Brew Reviews.

Ranking is determined using an algorithm that reflects two key measures of web popularity: inbound links and traffic measured in monthly unique users. For each blog, these elements are weighted to achieve a balance between measurable impact to date (traffic) and likelihood of future impact (links as a proxy for search visibility). Each entry is then re-evaluated according to additional metrics, including update frequency and comment count per post.
