NEW FACES AT THE FRC

The UK's corporate reporting watchdog has announced another senior appointment, just days after its new chief executive started work.

In the week that Stephen Haddrill took up his role, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has named Anthony Snow, the former chief operating officer at the Wales Audit Office, as its new COO.

On Monday, Haddrill – who was previously director general of the Association of British Insurers – took over from former CEO Paul Boyle. And by yesterday, he had announced the appointment of Snow.

Haddrill said Snow will address a wide range of issues across the business, taking special responsibility for the overall development of FRC’s strategy and business plan.

"The FRC considers it particularly important that we communicate powerfully with the market and that our reputation is deservedly strong amongst all our stakeholders, including other international and regulatory authorities, Parliament and those sections of the public we serve, such as investors," he said. "Anthony will be leading efforts to intensify our work in this area. I am looking forward to working very closely with him.”
