Communicate magazine can exclusively reveal the winners of the seventh Italian Hallvarsson & Hallvarsson Webranking Awards, announced this afternoon (20 November) in a ceremony in Milan. The Webranking Awards measure the best corporate websites in Italy and award several individual prizes.

Hallvarsson & Hallvarsson survey corporate websites in European countries as well as the Gulf region. The big winner in Milan this year was Eni, an oil and gas company who have topped Webranking’s list for three years in a row.

The event also took the form of a conference discussing trends and developments in online corporate communications. Discussions were led by Joakim Lundquist, country manager for Italy, Switzerland and Austria for Hallvarsson & Hallvarsson, Simon Lande, the CEO of Magus, and Nella Ciuccarelli of the Italian stock exchange, amongst other leaders in the field of Italian online communications.

Eni took the prize for best Italian corporate website with a score of 87.75 out of 100, with Hera, a small multi-utility company, coming a close second. Hera also received the Transparency Award for their efforts to provide stakeholders with accessible information in close to real time, such as in the publication of interactive annual reports within hours of board approval.

Other particular prizes were awarded to Edison, for innovation, and Piaggio, for demonstrating the best improvement after moving up the rankings from 61st to fifth place.
