GLASS CEILINGS, WALLS, PHONES: CORNING'S CORPORATE VIDEO GOES VIRAL

A video depicting the future of glass and technology has become the most watched corporate video in history, with over 8,000,000 views on YouTube.

The video was developed for Corning, the world leader in specialist glass and ceramics, and shows off a dizzying range of applications for glass products in the future.

Entitled ‘A Day Made Of Glass’, the video stacked up over seven million YouTube views in a month, making history as the most popular corporate video ever.

Alasdair Morrison, managing director of Doremus, the company that created the video, says of the project: “We knew we’d created a powerful piece of content that would resonate with Corning’s key stakeholders, but we did not anticipate that we’d be making history with regard to viral videos.”

The main message here is convenience and interactivity: both hallmarks of the internet and the devices that allow access to it. Most companies have not yet understood that power of that interactivity and are still testing the waters with social media. We now have a full generation that has grown up with interactivity.

I would love the convenience... I'm looking forward to these developments. Carry on Corning.
