SOCIAL MEDIA IN A CORPORATE CONTEXT SEES IPAD APP BUILT IN A DAY
The Social Media in a Corporate Context iPad app, an interactive concept from Communicate magazine, is now available on iTunes - proof that creating a mobile app needn't be a time-consuming undertaking.
Created as a companion to Communicate’s Social Media in a Corporate Context (SMCC) conferences, the app was scoped and workshopped entirely by delegates at SMCC Europe, a one-day event in Amsterdam on Tuesday 10 May. Completed by developers TKGB in just 4 hours, the app went live on the iTunes store as a free download the same night.
David Noble, managing director of TKGB, led the session in which attendees were tasked with creating relevant content - both video and text - before the his team set about transforming it into a working app. The rapid turnaround served as a reminder of the growing potential of mobile as a corporate communications channel.
The app will now as a template for future SMCC conferences with conference content uploaded during and after each one. TKGB will be reporting live with text and videos from SMCC London, on 2 June.
