Cision has added a new feature to its Cision Point PR software. The Social Publish feature allows branded content to be distributed through social networks, and follows the announcement of Cision’s partnership with social media release platform PitchEngine in September.

Cision hopes that this new social publishing element will underline the importance of social media in public relations and communications.

Users will be able to publish stories, videos and photos on the PitchEngine site; to integrate newsfeeds on their company website and to share branded content directly to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google and other social media sites by publishing that content in one place. The social media newsroom also aims to provide increased visibility for content, with every story being automatically populated as soon as it’s published.

PitchEngine is a social platform that enables businesses and organisations to get the word out using social media and search optimisation. This function has been integrated into Cision’s software to achieve what Cision hopes will be a tool which allows PR and marketing professionals to easily deliver their message to multiple audiences and to move forward into the future of media. Cision now has a minority stake in PitchEngine as part of the partnership deal.
