IR SOCIETY NAMES GOLLIFER NEW GM

On 20 August, the Investor Relations Society announced that its new general manager will be John Gollifer, the former head of Investor Relations at the Singapore Exchange. Gollifer will succeed Michael Mitchell, the society’s general manager for the past five years.

Gollifer will begin work with the Investor Relations Society on 20 October and will work alongside Mitchell until the latter retires at the end of the year.

John Dawson, the society’s chairman said that Gollifer’s appointment will be useful in the increasingly globalised world of investor relations.

“John’s strong financial markets expertise and insight into investor relations on a global level will be extremely valuable with our profession and members becoming even more international,’ he said.

Gollifer also worked for BNP Paribas as the Director of Equity Capital Markets and for Barclays Bank. Mitchell has been with the Investor Relations Society since 2005 and acceded to the role of general manager.

The IR Society, established in 1980, is designed to promote good investor relations in the UK and around the world. The society has over 600 members, including most FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies.
