CIPR EXCELLENCE AWARDS SHORTLIST UNVEILED

One hundred and sixty of the UK’s best consultancies, in-house communications teams and individual communicators will be waiting on the edges of their seats at June’s CIPR Excellence Awards.

The shortlist for the 29th annual awards has extracted the most distinguished of the more than 700 entries received. Over 900 guests are expected at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 3 June to see which of the 160 shortlisted entries will take home one of only 28 gold awards.

“The judges have been hugely impressed by the high standard of entries, so congratulations to all of those who have made the shortlist in such a hotly contested year,” Jane Wilson, CEO of the CIPR, says. “My thanks go to all those who entered and I wish all of our shortlisted entrants the best of luck for the next round.”

In keeping with the trend in communications awards this year, a number of entries feature work done during the Olympics. The best sporting campaign, for one, will be a hotly contested category stacked with the work of Olympic sponsors and partners.

The awards, split into categories by type of campaign and by sector, also include awards for individuals and communications teams.

Entries are shortlisted by 50 senior members of the CIPR who form the initial panel of judges. During the second round of judging, an additional 30 join the panel and interview each shortlisted entrant before coming to a decision.
