DIGITAL IMPACT AWARDS SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
Communicate magazine has announced the shortlisted entries for the 2013 Digital Impact Awards - Europe’s leading benchmark of digital stakeholder engagement. It will provide staff, companies and agencies a well-deserved opportunity to celebrate excellence in digital communications and see their efforts recognised.
Sixty-four companies were added to the awards shortlist this year including some of the corporate world’s most recognisable brand names, including Barclays, Tesco, and Coca-Cola Enterprises. Digitas LBi, who won the award for 'Best use of digital in the property sector' last year will once again be competing against Hope and Glory PR for 'Best use of digital in the technology, media and telecoms sector'. This year however, they were surpassed by AMV/BBDO. The agency nabbed five nominations for three clients including two entries for both 'Best use of existing social media' and 'Best use of digital in the food and beverages sector', and another entry for 'Best use of digital by a NGO, NFP or charity'.
Additional agencies who have been shortlisted include: STEEL London, who thanks to their effective campaign for Greggs, won gold and silver awards last year for 'Best use of digital in the food and beverages sector' and 'Best use of digital in the retail sector', respectively; popular retail giant, Tesco, and its competitors, Sainsbury’s –whose campaign by ICM Research has also been nominated for the award for 'Best annual report' – and Waitrose – who they are pitched against for the title of 'Best use of digital to aid a CR campaign'.
Solo nominees in their categories include NASDAQ OMX, which is shortlisted for 'Best online newsroom' for their work with LinkedIn and NVIDIA; and Black Sun, a strategic communications company, whose work for Subsea 7, a global leader in seabed-to-surface engineering, has been nominated for 'Best use of digital in the engineering and manufacturing sector'.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony dinner at The Brewery in London, at 7 p.m. on 30 October. The winners’ projects will then be showcased online, and winning agencies will be included in a list of recommended consultancies.
