BIMA MAKES LEADERSHIP CHANGES
After standing at the helm of BIMA over a four and a half year period characterised by rapid evolution and change in digital media, Justin Cooke has stepped down from the chairmanship. In his place, Adam Graham, CEO of Weapon7 and former vice-chair of BIMA, will take over the stewardship of the organisation.
Cooke recounted BIMA’s eventful year which included the launch of the digital Hot 100 in July and the successful Digital Day programme in the nation's schools. Though he will be focusing on his role as CEO of Possible UK, Cooke was appointed a BIMA Ambassador at the AGM. The newly-created role will allow him to maintain his leadership within the sector.
Cooke says, “I’m proud to be handing BIMA over to its new chairman at an all-time high for the organisation. I know that under Adam’s stewardship BIMA will go from strength to strength and I wish him all the best. Though I’m stepping down from day-to-day involvement I’ll remain a committed and passionate advocate for UK digital and for BIMA.”
At the yearly AGM, new members of the executive committee were also elected. The new members include four re-elected candidates.
Graham says his leadership will look to build on the legacy that Cooke has left at BIMA and diversify the membership of the organisation. He adds, “BIMA has been revitalised since Justin Cooke first became involved back in May 2009. It’s thanks to his leadership that the Executive Committee and I first saw the potential of BIMA to sit at the forefront of UK digital. I look forward to building on his legacy and further transforming the organisation in the years to come.”
