IVCA CELEBRATES CORPORATE VIDEO (WITH A NEW NAME)

Corporate video has become an established sector within the communications industry as its use has expanded into internal communications, investor relations and onto mobile platforms. The IVCA Awards benchmarks excellence in corporate video each year.

Tonight’s IVCA Awards, held at the Grosvener House Hotel in London, mark the final event to be held under the IVCA banner. It is also the first to be held jointly by IVCA-Eventia, which joined forces in January of this year. The organisation unveiled its new brand, EVCOM –short for Event & Visual Communication Association – at the awards last night. The announcement was made following a reality-defying laser display. The evening's partnership theme evoked EVCOM partnership.

The 26th annual IVCA Awards was rung in by ‘Crisis Christmas Cards, a JB3 Creative and Giggle Group creation that took home the Grand Prix award. The inaugural ‘Production company of the year’ award was won by MerchantCantos and the ‘Industry award for communication effectiveness’ was given to ‘Fighting striga’ by Agro-Insigh for ICRISAT. Also new to the mix, the ‘Best app’ was won by drpgroup for its app development with ENRC.

Dale Parmenter, chairman of IVCA-Eventia and drpgroup MD, said at the launch of this year’s programme, “This is an extremely important and poignant year for the ceremony as the first IVCA Awards to be delivered under the banner of the new Eventia-IVCA Association. The evening this year will be a real celebration of the communications industry as a whole and will also reveal some exciting new initiatives that Eventia-IVCA will be delivering in the coming year.”
