The EVCOM Clarion Awards has revealed its 2016 shortlist. Ahead of the curve, education specialists EdComs received eight nominations, with drp, Brickwall, and Media Trust also topping the list.

Along with CSR and sustainability, the EVCOM Clarion Awards recognises overall exceptional performance in a number of categories, including environment, diversity, equality, charity initiatives, health, and welfare issues.

EdComs is a familiar face to the EVCOM Awards, taking home previous accolades, including 'Production company of the year' at the EVCOM Screen Awards 2015. Similarly, creative communications agency drpgroup shared much of the same success last year, and its short film 'Pull Through' for West Midlands Ambulance Service ties in the emotional value of public service responses.

This year also sees creative agency Brickwall gain a number of nominations for its breadth of projects, including its pre-Brexit promotional campaign The £1 Brexit Challenge which illustrated the benefits of involvement with the EU during the referendum campaign. With its focus on animation, communications charity Media Trust's short campaign for Living Trust entitled 'Made for Walking' also gained a number of nominations for bringing kids' shoes to life. Bournemouth based production agency, RedBalloon, made its mark with driving awareness campaign #FriendsDriveSafe, for the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on the 7th of October.

EVCOM CEO Steve Garvey says, "Now in their 13th year, the EVCOM Clarion Awards have a growing number of entries from the events sector, as well as the long-standing entries from the screen sector. The striking feature in 2016 is the great diversity of entrants and the commitment to CSR that they demonstrate, making the Clarions so unique and highly regarded."
