CIPR ANNOUNCES INTERACTIVE ETHICS PODCAST

The CIPR has today announced the release of an interactive podcast promoting best practice and ethical conduct throughout the PR profession. The podcast, introduced as part of the CIPR’s ‘Ethics Festival’ held this month, aims to help practitioners working in PR roles gauge a well-rounded view of the field, introducing fictional scenarios and informed discussion surrounding the pressing issues that face PR today.

Taking a considered look at the PR profession, the podcast places three fictional scenarios before listeners, followed by in-depth analysis from senior industry figures Anne Gregory Hon FCIPR and Donald Steel FCIPR. The podcast’s focus on ethics follows heightened discussion within the profession regarding conduct and ethics. Seeking to raise awareness of the critical importance of ethics, codes of conduct and overall best practice within PR, the podcast’s release as part of Ethics Festival accompanies ongoing discussions taking place across various locations in the UK surrounding the topic.

Eva Maclaine, FCIPR, vice-chair of the CIPR Professional Practices Committee, says, “In many cases in ethical situations there is no right or wrong answer but we hope this podcast will act as a stimulus for ethical conduct and help practitioners arrive at appropriate ethical decisions.”

Worth five points in the CIPR’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme, the full podcast will be available on Wednesday 25 October 2017.
