DIGITAL IMPACT AWARDS 2017 SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
The global proliferation of digital diversity within the professional space is rapidly advancing, swiftly transforming today’s disruption into tomorrow’s protocol. Yet for the Digital Impact Awards, rewarding best practice in the corporate digital space has long understood the contingent nature of digital communications. For eight years, the awards have represented the difference-makers and thought leaders that are championing development. This year’s shortlist offers an eclectic mix of cross-sector work, with digital success at its core.
The programme encompasses a blend of categories, leveraging a capacious breakdown that celebrates digital communications in social media, integrated campaigns, corporate apps and online newsrooms, among other brackets. Equally, the sector breakdown rewards those that have harnessed digital to better their environment, from energies and utilities, to food and beverage. This year sees one of the most diverse entry classes in the awards’ history, with collaborative projects from the likes of British Steel, Gatwick Airport, Turkcell and Adidas Women.
Incorporating an esteemed judging panel, this year’s shortlist highlights the true breadth of noteworthy digital work. Liz Oakley, awards judge and head of corporate communications at Compass Group, says, “It was great to see such a high level of entries for this year’s awards. Selecting those entries that really stood out was no easy task but it certainly made judging these awards a really enjoyable and insightful experience. I was extremely impressed with the huge amount of innovation and creativity that shone through across the categories.”
Much the same way, the Digital Impact Awards celebrates the collection of professionals working to better the digital landscape, recognising digital agency of the year and digital in-house team of the year on the evening of the ceremony. With the winners announced on 17 October 2017, the Digital Impact Awards is the UK’s largest celebration of digital work in corporate communications.
Conall Gribben, who also sits on the judging panel and is head of digital corporate content at Virgin Media, says, “I thoroughly enjoyed judging this year’s Digital Impact Awards. Lots of creative entries across a range of sectors – all of which were a pleasure to read. I was particularly impressed with those digital campaigns and projects that had a big impact despite having a relatively small budget. Proof that you don’t always need a blank cheque to dream up a creative concept and execute it well. I’ve no doubt the shortlisted entries will inspire digital communications professionals everywhere.”
