LONDON LIVE LAUNCHES BUSINESS-FOCUSED TV PROGRAMME

The capital’s dedicated 24-hour TV channel, London Live, has broadened its programming with the launch of a new business programme. Hosted by Michael Hayman, entrepreneur and co-founder of campaign communications firm, Seven Hills, ‘The Capital Conversation’ features a host of global business pioneers. The programme’s fortnightly schedule began earlier this week, with YO! Sushi CEO, Robin Rowland, warning of the capital’s lack of preparation in facing up to the business challenges of Brexit.

Showcasing several business triumphs, the programme delves into the heart of the capital’s professional landscape. Its focus on cross-sector success stories is amplified by a collection of distinguished guests ranging from hoteliers and restaurateurs to the rising stars of the fintech world. Rowland’s journey through the hurdles of the hospitality industry best illustrate the trials of the business environment.

Yet for Hayman, whose Seven Hills has ranked amongst the top in the Global Fast Mover category of the Holmes Report, getting to the heart of today’s pressing business issues is brought home through conversation. “The Capital Conversation will be a home for the very best in business and will offer a dedicated show for London’s success stories. I’m looking forward to exploring the issues that make the difference for business in London.”

For London Live however, communicative outreach has formed much of the fabric of the network, making recent improvements to its on-demand feature. Under the umbrella of Lebedev Holdings, whose London Evening Standard and Independent outlets are climbing the ranks of circulation and readership in the capital, London Live first aired in 2014 after winning the Ofcom auction for the Local Digital Television Programme Service in 2013. According to the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board, the channel enjoys an audience share of 0.10%, winning Broadcaster of the Year at the 2017 Diversity in Media Awards.

Jim Grice, head of news and current affairs at London Live, says, “The Capital Conversation is London Live’s new flagship business show and we’re thrilled to welcome Michael Hayman as the host. We have an exciting line-up of superb guests that reflects the energy of London’s business scene. The show will provide a strong forum to debate the issues that really matter to business.”
