CELEBRATING CONTENT AT THE 2019 CORPORATE CONTENT AWARDS

One of the most successful examples of corporate content is the soap opera. Dreamed up by P&G in the halcyon days of radio to reach a female audience, the soap opera became a beloved genre that earned the sponsoring soap brands loyalty and awareness.

The best corporate storytellers and content producers earn through their content what those FMCG brands did in the early 20th century – awareness, loyalty, influence and recognition. Celebrating those who do this best is the Corporate Content Awards.

After a remarkable first year, the programme is launching for 2019. The Corporate Content Awards will celebrate the best in creative content, corporate storytelling and communications, recognising the role content has to play in carrying out business objectives.

Rachel Cooper, awards judge and director of global content strategy and editorial at GSK, says of the 2018 awards, “There was an impressive variety of award entries, which reflected the full spectrum of corporate content. Some of the more innovative approaches were evident in employee engagement, with more creative storytelling being used within internal communications. What stood out to me was the increasing use of personal stories, which help put a human face on an organisation. It was also good to see a number of organisations putting a real effort into measuring the impact and outcomes of their content.”

This year, judges like Cooper will see a similarly strong bunch of entrants from across the sectors, industries and areas of communications. Categories include ‘Best use of video,’ ‘Best content targeted to the investor audience’ and ‘Best use of a celebrity/influencer,’ among others. Previous winners from the Ministry of Defence, ASOS, Barclays the NHS, RBS and Toyota celebrated at a gala dinner in February.

Entries are accepted for the 2019 Corporate Content Awards until 5 October 2018, but those received by 21 September 2018 will get their fifth entry free of charge.
