CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT AWARDS 2018 SHORTLIST UNVEILED
Corporate reputation relies on a number of strategies all working to the business’ advantage. One of those strategies encompasses sustainability programmes, CSR activities and partnerships. These strategies allow companies to make a difference in the communities in which they operate, while simultaneously gaining reputational and cultural benefits.
The Corporate Engagement Awards has celebrated successes of this kind for the past eight years. This year’s crop of nominated partnerships, programmes and activities represent the good in business, as these businesses continue to do good.
Some of this year’s shortlisted projects have exemplified a long term strategy for doing good in the community – like Marks & Spencer’s longtime partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support – some have only recently begun working together, but have made a big impact. What each of the nominees exhibits, however, is a clear alignment of business values, a desire to make a difference outside the business and a successful strategy designed to carry out those objectives.
Kerry North, senior community manager at O2 (Telefonica UK) and CEA judge says, "Judging the awards was really inspirational – it’s great to hear about all of the amazing initiatives and programmes that businesses are doing to make a positive difference." She adds "I’m really looking forward to celebrating with all the finalists on the night, and hearing more about the work being done."
Severn Trent, on the shortlist six times, has worked with a number of water-related charities and organisations to make a real impact on the waterways and water supply in Britain. O2 again shows its long term commitment to CSR through its work with young people via the Go Think Big programme. Simply Health, also a six-time nominee, has taken a stand in dental hygiene, promoting change among young people’s hygiene behaviours.
The winners of the 2018 Corporate Engagement Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on 26 June at the Grand Connaught Rooms. To book your table, click here.
