DIGITAL PR SUCCESS CELEBRATED AT ANNUAL AWARDS

Britain’s best in digital PR have created some of the most renowned, impactful and exciting campaigns of the past year. Those that have truly achieved excellence, though, were acknowledged at last Thursday’s PRCA Digital Awards 2018.

The awards’ second edition saw recipients range from teams as small as 16 to the biggest international agencies in the industry. Each recipient is celebrated as the best in digital public relations.

The ‘How unique is your name?’ campaign by GBG and Hotwire compared users’ names to the most common names in the UK. The project took home the ‘Best digital marketing campaign’ prize after winning the ‘Low-budget campaign award’ at the DARE Awards North in 2017. Integrated digital and PR agency Alfred took home the ‘Best use of social influencers in a campaign’ award for its work on the #EtsyforYou project. Etsy worked with six UK-based influencers as part of its Christmas gifting campaign.

The ‘Digital agency of the year’ went to mid-sized London based consultancy Battenhall while Smart Energy GB took home the ‘In-house digital team of the year’ prize. The other premiere winners were Weber Shandwick’s MD of integrated media, Danny Whatmough, who took home the ‘Outstanding contribution’ prize and Communicate’s own Brittany Golob. The editor won the ‘Best digital journalist’ award.

Francis Ingham, director general of the PRCA, says, “I’d like to congratulate all of the winners of the Digital Awards 2018. Digital is hugely important to our industry – it has been the fuel that has enabled PR and communications growth.”
