COMMS CONSULTANCY OFFERS AWARD-WINNING VIRTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Following its win at the PRCA Internship and Apprenticeship Awards 2021, Liquid communications consultancy has relaunched its virtual work experience to students interested in a comms career.

Owen Maginnis was named Best Intern at the PRCA awards for his role at Liquid, after successfully completing his year in industry with the company as part of his Business Management degree. Izzy Jenkins, who is currently completing her placement with Liquid was also shortlisted for the award.

In the wake of its success at the PRCA Internship and Apprenticeship Awards, Liquid has set out to offer its award-winning work experience to sixth form and university students looking to begin a career in the communications sector. The move demonstrates the agency’s commitment to supporting upcoming talent, particularly after students have faced difficulty securing valuable work experience through the pandemic.

Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, CEO of Liquid, says, “We understand that 2020 and 2021 have been challenging years for everyone, especially students seeking work experience placements, so we are proud to support our young people in these times of uncertainty by offering our own virtual sessions to support those looking to join the profession.”

Liquid is relaunching its virtual work experience sessions to give students essential sector knowledge in comms, PR, social media and digital marketing. The sessions will aim to provide students with the experience they may be lacking in the absence of traditional placements.

The original session took place in February 2021 and saw 140 students engage with industry experts online. The first of the relaunched series took place on 28-29 July, with two sessions titled ‘Introduction to PR, and ‘Introduction to social and digital’, both endorsed by the PRCA which will provide participants with valuable insight and a certificate as proof of participation.
