LENS: NESTLÉ

Showcasing Nestlé’s charitable partnership and commitment to leading water regeneration in Egypt, this video uses a combination of documentary style footage and interview clips to show the replenishment of the Gamgara Water Station.

Nestlé has partnered with local authorities in Egypt to improve water quality and access in the community around the Nestlé Waters factory in Gamgara, Egypt. The video aims to increase consumer awareness of the large corporation’s commitment to support its workers and the communities around its facilities.

As part of the ‘Water Positive future’ campaign which aims to create a positive water impact by 2025, this video aims to increase corporate transparency and improve internal and external understanding of brand’s social responsibility commitments.

Cédric Egger, head of sustainability at Nestlé Waters, says, "As a business with a long heritage of nature protection and water stewardship, we want to go beyond the conservation of water sources to help regenerate and restore water cycles in the areas where we operate.”

It speaks to the audience and aims to answer the question, ‘what is a positive water impact?’ before explaining the ways regeneration will make more water available within the watershed than is used annually. The video focuses in on one particular project in Egypt, which will improve the local canal’s ability to retain water, streamline water processing and support surrounding agriculture.

Nestlé also shared an animated video clip on social media with the statement, “Regeneration is at the heart of our work to protect and restore water.’ A voiceover explains the ways water regeneration will make a social and environmental impact, from enlarging riverbeds to reforesting depleted areas.

The social media campaign has been shared widely across platforms with links to Nestlé’s website giving more information about the Water Positive future campaign.
