LIVERY COMPANY VOLUNTEERING PLATFORM AIMS TO STRENGTHEN SUPPORT FOR LONDON SCHOOLS

For over 500 years, the UK’s livery companies have underwritten City communications through a lasting commitment to over 110 crafts, trades and professions. Yet enduring a complete transformation of the City has spawned a new thoroughfare for the historic companies, with CSR forming a central component to the cause. Using the newly developed digital platform from charitable organisation, Livery Schools Link, the Worshipful Company of Marketors has recently announced its involvement, raising awareness to the communications qualities inherent within the marketing profession.

For many schools in the Greater London area, both creating and accessing resource pools for volunteers continuously proves difficult. Yet as the education sector faces the wider challenges of pre-Brexit reorganisations colliding with the unknown future of an independent Britain, the current education landscape in the UK needs volunteers more than ever before. With Livery Schools Link acting as a bridge between both schools and volunteers, providing a forum for the collection of ideas is undertaken through workshops, motivational career talks and career days.

Raising awareness to the vast opportunities present within the marketing sector, the Worshipful Company of Marketors recent decision to team up with the Livery Schools Link will target children through their own professional outlook, arming younger generations with the skills needed to thrive as marketers. Using examples such as mock interviews and CV workshops, the livery aims to contact the skills gap through its growing volunteer workforce, showcasing a dynamic understanding of both the professional and educational landscape and allowing working individuals to influence posterity through effective and meaningful methods.
