UN-BACKED PRI APPOINTS LANSONS

Sustainability in financial services is set to come to the forefront of the global agenda, as the Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative (PRI) has today appointed Lansons Communications as strategic communications advisors.

PRI is backed by the United Nations, and is partners with the UNEP Finance Intitiative and the UN Global Compact.

It aims to put six Principles for Responsible Investment into international practice, and to get the investment community to recognise that environmental, social, and corporate governance issues can affect the performance of investors.

In the seven years since PRI was founded, over 1000 investment institutions managing around US $3trillion of investments have signed up to the six Principles.

Lansons will report to the head of communications at PRI, Matthew McAdam, and will advise the Initiative globally, including on its participation in Rio+20 in June 2012.
