DIGITAL IMPACT AWARDS 2012 SHORTLIST RELEASED

Communicate Magazine has announced the shortlisted entries for the 2012 Digital Impact Awards, the largest celebration of excellence in digital stakeholder communications. This year, there was a 51 per cent increase in entries over the 2011 awards.

Seventy-nine companies were added to the awards shortlist. Tesco nabbed four nominations including Best Online Annual Report and Best Corporate Website. Five nods went to Skype and five between BMI and BMIBaby. The airline has one entry per subsidiary in both the Best Use of Existing Social Media Platforms/Sites and the Best Use of Digital in the Travel & Leisure sector.

Andrew Thomas, publisher of Communicate magazine, says: "We’ve been delighted with the submissions in this years Digital Impact Awards. Entries were up by more than 50% and, crucially, the quality of submission was of a fabulous standard. I'd like to thank all those that spent so much time on their submission. Worthy of special thanks, however, are our judges. The Digital Impact Awards are already the UK's biggest celebration of excellence in digital stakeholder communication. and our judges have raised the bar even further by applying a fabulous rigour to this year's proceedings.

Among agencies, iProspect has projects for four different clients in three categories, LBi has nine nominated for 11 awards. The Group found three of its clients nominated for five awards.

Coca Cola Enterprises dominated the Best Use of Digital to an Internal Audience section with shortlisted entries for both the Best Intranet and Best Digital Employee Communication awards.

Saudi Aramco and Rio Tinto are the only two companies vying for the Best Use of Digital in the Extraction Sector award for their use of inventive web design.

In the world of social media, Skype has a nomination in each of the three categories, including Best Use of Existing Social Media Platforms.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony dinner at 7 p.m. on 16 October at The Brewery in London. The winners’ projects will be showcased online and winning agencies will be included in a list of recommended consultants.
