JOIN COMMUNICATE TO LEARN FROM THE LEGACY OF LONDON 2012
Have you lost that Olympic feeling? Not to fear, on 8 November, Communicate magazine is hosting a half-day conference discussing the legacy of the London 2012 Games on the communications industry in Great Britain.
“Learning from the Legacy” will showcase the best in the strategic minds behind the Games’ communications successes including Alex Balfour of LOCOG and the leaders in comms at Coca-Cola, the BBC and TFL. If that is not enough, there will be a panel discussion with Team GB Olympians and Paralympians.
“There's no going back now,” publisher of Communicate Andrew Thomas says. “The lessons communicators can learn from the Olympics will last way beyond the summer of 2012. Companies (and not just those recognised as the big sponsors) developed many new strategies to deal with the media, engage with employees and position their brands. We're delighted that the senior comms professionals who had developed such innovative programmes, from LOCOG, official sponsors and others, are so keen on sharing their experiences.”
Speakers and guests will discuss the way the Games showcased the best of Britain and the impact the Herculean efforts of the communications industry will have in a post-London 2012 Britain.
The day will begin at 8:15 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London with Balfour discussing the digital aspects of the LOCOG communications strategy. The action-packed programme will continue with non-stop through midday.
