VETERANS' SPORTING EVENT ATTRACTS AUTOMOTIVE SPONSORSHIP

Jaguar Land Rover is the official partner of the Invictus Games taking place this September at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. The Games is an international sporting event for injured service personnel that was launched earlier this year by Prince Harry, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Ministry of Defence.

Jaguar Land Rover will work closely with both the Royal Foundation and the Ministry of Defence in order to find innovative ways of facilitating veterans into new job roles; this is intended to be the long term legacy of the Invictus Games. The Games itself is intended to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for veterans among the wider public.

Jaguar Land Rover is also organising a driving challenge as part of the programme. A UK based automotive manufacturing business, Jaguar Land Rover has an ongoing CSR programme that includes support of local communities and encourages young people to get into engineering careers. The company won the Responsible Business of the Year Award in 2013.

The games will run from 10-14 September and will close with a concert headlined by the Foo Fighters, tickets for the closing concert have already sold out.
