A MODERN APPROACH TO BEDTIME STORIES
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) provides free accommodation to the families of children in hospital.
The organisation recently collaborated with Rawnet digital agency for a campaign that encourages parents to read with their children at bedtime. The Night Light campaign puts a modern twist on the time-honoured tradition of storytelling.
Ascot-based Rawnet have created 10 digital story books featuring Patch the Night Light; a character created by Leo Burnett and Anarchy Ltd Modelmakers to represent the values of the RMHC. Supporters of the charity are given the opportunity to contribute to the books by sharing ideas for character names, locations and artwork online.
Lauren Gotlieb, marketing and communications manager for RMHC, says, “Giving back to our donors is one way we thank them for all their invaluable support, and this campaign will also seek to engage new supporters by giving them the opportunity to shape the story books and download them for free. Throughout the campaign will be opportunities to donate, helping the Charity to keep families together, close to their children in hospital, so all children can experience the comfort of a bedtime story.”
The stories are designed to encourage parents to read to their children before bed, while raising awareness and funds for the charity and its mission. RMHC has been a partner of McDonald’s since it was founded in 1989. There are 14 Ronald McDonald Houses in the UK and in 2014 they helped support over 6,000 families with children in hospital.
