CONSERVATION EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN

Barclays supports an annual Special Children’s Day at ZSL London Zoo, the event gives children with special needs exclusive access to the animals and a range of fun and educational activities.

At this year's event, Barclays ran its own Digital Eagles playground, an area which introduced children to coding.

Sequel Group, a video and film agency that works with Barclays, heard about the British bank’s involvement with London Zoo and offered its support by covering the day with a couple of short films; one to support Barclays CSR campaign and the other to build awareness of ZSL’s conservation work.

Elaine Draper, director of accessibility and inclusion at Barclays, says, “Through a chance mention of this event, Sequel Group quickly saw the opportunity to support and generously offered their services. We’re extremely grateful for their involvement in this special project; providing the ZSL charity with a bespoke digital asset they will be able to use again and again – ensuring the legacy of the Special Children’s Day event continues.”

From badge-making to sensory storytelling and building bug hotels, Special Children’s Day ensures that London Zoo remains inclusive to all. Special Children’s day is held at both ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
