CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP: BYRON HAMBURGERS AND ONE FEEDS TWO
The benefits of burgers
Corporate Sponsorship
Who: One Feeds Two and Byron Hamburgers
Objective:
Byron Hamburgers, a UK restaurant chain, is the first national partner of One Feeds Two, a charity that applies the one for one giving model (famously initiated by Toms) to the food industry. For every time that a Byron customer buys one of its Special Hamburgers, a free school meal is provided to a child living in poverty.
When asked how he engaged his staff with the project, Tom Byng, MD at Byron, says, “We introduced our restaurant managers to JP [Campbell], who instantly won over everyone’s heart and mind – both with the strength of his vision and his exuberance! Our teams took to the partnership immediately, and are all hugely excited to be part of the work One Feeds Two do.”
The partnership was officially announced at a launch event for Byron members on 6 October 2015. The launch event provided customers with 25p burgers, the amount that it costs to provide a child with a nutritious meal. 40,000 school meals were provided for and Byron took that total up to over 80,000.
Rationale:
JP Campbell co-founder and CEO at One Feeds Two, says, “We want to work with businesses that really want to incorporate generosity into their brand values and view the partnership as part of their identity, rather than a CSR box-ticking exercise.” The ongoing nature of the Byron Hamburgers partnership will have a significant and meaningful effect for the school feeding programmes that One Feeds Two works with.
